The Cooperative Agri-Rural Tourism Association (Refena) works with all to promote the culture of alternative tourism and the application of agro-rural tourism among farmers and urban dwellers and to work hard to settle the best global experiences and skills in the agro-rural tourism industry. It aims to highlight and develop the distinctive elements of each farm in order to help them in making the agro-tourism project a success, increase and diversify their income and provide the climate and environment that will stimulate competition among farmers to deliver the best programmes and activities within and outside their farms. It also seeks to educate public and private funding and donors and all partners on the importance of agro-tourism and rural tourism, with a focus on raising awareness of the economic importance of agro-tourism as a supportive area, generating employment and opening up new investment opportunities, while ensuring a closer strategic relationship with the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, represented by the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Programme, environmental centres and linkages and all actors in the public, private, cooperative and charitable sectors.
